The Department of Veterinary Services had filed many complaints against us under the category ‘animal welfare’.
Those that had been trialled (2012) we were acquitted and for the remaining cases they were dropped. Some of the cases are documented below:
We have written and asked many times for an investigation to be carried out but nothing has ever been done as it would be of no benefit to the Department of Veterinary Services and for others that are involved. A letter was sent to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and a meeting took place on the 19th November 2012 whereby she requested that the director of the Department of Veterinary Services be present and other employees that are involved. Even though the Permanent Secretary showed genuine interest in putting a stop to the problems the Department of Veterinary Services continue in the same manner.
After all the setbacks we have not stopped progressing with the changes to the park and even after obtaining our ‘license to operate’ on the 26th September 2012 the work continues. However the Department of Veterinary Services continue to find new ways to cause us problems.
