Within the hundreds of birds that were imported on the 9th November 2010 from the Netherlands, included were 12 Black Francolin and along with all the birds in the delivery they had all the necessary documents that were needed.
All 12 birds had closed ID rings, closed ID rings are recognized across the world to mean that birds with this type of ring have been born in captivity. Prior to the delivery being handed over to us it was fully inspected by Mr. Panikos Panayides from the Game Fund.
On the 12/11/2010 Mr. Panayides accompanied by Ms. Elena Erotokritou from the Department/Office of Environment came once again and with a bad manor entered our cages, distressed the birds, caused the death of others in order to confiscate the 12 Black Francolin. They came without a warrant and claimed that they were taking them for DNA testing. Until this day we do not know what has happened to these birds.
We have imported the same type of francolin many times before and without the slightest problem.
