On the 13th April 2007 the Game Fund entered our premises and confiscated a large number of birds.
They were fully aware that the birds they were about to confiscate had been legally imported except for the 3 Bonnelli’s eagles that were transferred to our care by the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environment. Something that was proven in the final decision of the trial that came out on the 5th August 2009. They entered the cages, confiscated the birds and in the process they killed many birds and distressed others, followed no legislation by way of the transport boxes used or their vehicle used to transport the birds. We have in writing, dated before the trial/hearing, from the Game Fund that the birds they had confiscated were set free, which is illegal as the birds they had freed were not wild but birds born and raised in captivity and are unable to survive in the wild.
